Electro galvanized wire
Electro Galvanized Wire (GI wire) is made of high quality low carbon steel wire rod (Q195, Q235). It is processed by forming uniform, dense and well bonded metal or alloy deposits on the surface of the product by electrolysis. The galvanised layer is uniformly strong, corrosion-resistant and rust-proof, and the wire has a high level of flexibility and softness.
Electro galvanized iron wire enjoys the characteristics of smooth , bright surface, firmly zinc coating, evenly plated appearance, rust-resistant and acid-resistance and versatile in applications.
We offer galvanised steel wire, fencing wire, spring wire, cable ties and wire mesh for construction. Galvanised iron wire is made from low carbon steel bars that have been hard drawn and galvanised. Galvanised wire is supplied in the form of coils, spools, cut wires, loops or U-shaped wires. The zinc coating varies according to specific requirements. Galvanised iron wire is sometimes simplified to GI wire.

Differences between electro galvanized wire and hot-dip galvanized wire
1. Different concepts
Hot-dip galvanized wire is made using the hot-dip galvanizing process and is an effective method of metal corrosion protection, mainly used in metal structural installations in various industries. The steel parts are de-rusted and immersed in a molten zinc solution at around 500°C to create a zinc layer on the surface of the steel parts, thus achieving corrosion protection.
The electro-galvanized wire is made using the electro-galvanizing process, also known as the cold galvanizing process, which uses electrolysis to form a uniform, dense, well-bonded deposit of metal or alloy on the surface of the part. Compared to other metals, zinc is a relatively inexpensive and easy metal to electroplate. It is a low-value anti-corrosion plating widely used to protect steel parts, particularly against atmospheric corrosion and for decoration.

Hot-dip galvanized wire process
Finished pickling - washing - adding booster solution - drying - hanging plating - cooling - dosing - cleaning - polishing - hot dip galvanizing.
Electric galvanized wire process
Chemical degreasing - hot water washing - water washing - electric degreasing - hot water washing - water washing - strong corrosion - water washing - electric galvanized iron alloy - water washing - water washing - luminescence - passivation - water washing - drying.
3. Different processes
Hot-dip galvanized wire is available in a variety of processes.
After degreasing, pickling, dipping, and drying, the workpiece is dipped into a molten zinc bath and elevated for a certain period of time to make it hot dip galvanized. Some hot dipped fittings are processed in this way.
The electro-galvanized wire is processed by electrolytic equipment.After degreasing and pickling, it is dipped into a solution containing zinc salts, connected to electrolytic equipment and deposited on the workpiece during the directional movement of the positive and negative electrodes.
4. Different appearance
The overall appearance of galvanized wire is slightly rougher, producing process water lines, dripping tumors etc., especially at one end of the workpiece, which has a silvery white overall appearance.
The surface of the electro-galvanized wire is smoother, mainly yellow-green, but of course also seven-colored, blue-white, white, and green light. The whole workpiece is basically free from zinc tumours, lumps, etc.
